A Rich History of Craftsmanship
Liberty began experimenting with cotton lawn in the late 1890s, and by the early 1930s, Tana Lawn was born - named after Lake Tana in Ethiopia, the source of the long-staple cotton fibres that make this fabric so unique.
Today, Liberty Tana Lawn is produced at Liberty's own mill near Lake Como, Italy. The cotton is sourced from India, Egypt, and the United States, and every stage of production is carefully quality-controlled to ensure the highest standard. The result? A fabric that’s light yet long-lasting, soft yet structured, and always a joy to wear.
